Christmas Gift

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  With Christmas approaching I've been quite busy.  Since it is Christmas time I would love to share a little bit about what Christmas means to me.

Every year around this time so many people scurry around to buy gifts for loved ones that we often forget what Christmas is truly about.  This is the season of giving and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.  It upsets me when I hear someone say "Bah Humbug".  Yes I know, all the running around puts a lot of stress on everyone but it doesn't have to be that way.  I love the joy on every one's faces this time of year and I love the magic the spirit brings.  I know money is tight for a lot of people but their is truly much more to be thankful for.  There have been times I wasn't able to provide a Christmas for my kids and I remember what it was like, although, it never took away from my season of giving and I was always blessed.
They say the best gift at Christmas time is "giving", and it truly is.  Below is a list of things you can do this year to bless someone this Christmas season.
1. Show you care for others...... Visit someone in a nursing home or in the hospital (you don't have to know them)
2. Show Kindness.....Wrap gifts for your neighbors that work all day and don't have time
3. Show spirit....Sing a Christmas Carol to a lonely Child or Family
4. Show love.....Wish a merry Christmas to anyone within 30 feet from you (be extra polite)
5. Show Courtesy.....Open the door for someone
6. Show Patience.....While waiting in line at the store let the person behind you go in front of you.
7. Show forgiveness....Tell someone you forgive them.
8. Show generosity......Help provide a dinner for those that don't have the funds to do so.  If you don't know of someone, give to an organization who will.
9. Show Hope.....Pray for those that lost someone this year or those that had a tough time.
10. Show Compassion......Hug those you can and always smile for the others you can't reach.
11. Give faith to those who don't believe.......Display a novelty set on your front lawn
12.  Share the story of Christ with others
13. Hand out candy canes with a card

These are just a few things you can do to bless someone with the gift of Christmas spirit. Over the holidays there are many who take their own lives due to loneliness during the holidays and these are great ways to show someone you care about them and maybe save their live.  Nothing makes me happier, then to see others smile.......That truly is the best gift anyone can give me next to just being with my family.

Building my dreams!!

It is amazing how in just a few moments your life can change.  I model and act and just 5 days ago I got offered a spot with an agency in LA.  I recently was featured in Hannah Weston's 2010 look book and now I have an opportunity to travel to LA for some fashion shoots, red carpet events and so much more.  I also got a call from that show "ghost hunter" with a chance to possibily be the next investigator on there show.  I feel like I am living a dream!  It feels so unreal, yet, I have worked very hard to get here also.  Now that it is here, I am shocked!  I am so excited and scared at the same time.  I love what I do deeply, however, I am afraid to be popular.  Maybe you think I am crazy, but think about it.  Most celebrities go crazy because media doesn't know how to give them a break.  I do what I do because I love it and I am good at it, not because I want to be popular.  I have a dream and a talent, that doesn't make me any better than anyone else, so why treat me any different?  I don't want to be treated any different.  Am I going insane, or am I making perfect sense?  Will keep you posted. :)

Question for the day!!

Why do we spend so much time making decisions because we are too scared of the wrong choice, when in reality we don't know the answer till we do both?

My Story

If your on my blog you already know basic information about me.  It's pretty obvious that I have three kids and a home based business.  What you don't know is how I got here, so I wanted to share a little more about me.  Most people consider me to be a very caring, gentle, free spirit.  I am very optimistic, and I always have a smile on my face.   Seeing me now, you would never guess that my childhood was packed with many tears, much pain, fustration, and most of all failure.  As a child, I was quiet, but beneath the mask, I was scared and hurting all the time.  I was put into special educating and told I was stupid so many times I actually believed it.  I had a very low self-esteem, and absolutely no confidence in myself.  I was ignored and overlooked by everyone close to me.  It was so much easier to believe everyone then to put myself to the test and a part of me feared what I would find out about myself if  I did.  I had cancer, I was attacked, and had a family that didn't get along at all.  Now near I am 15-20 years later, I am a successful work from home mom, I am an actress, I am featured in Hannah Weston's 2010 Look book, and I am a professional business coach.  All of this is beyond my dreams and expectations of myself.  I don't ask myself anymore how this happens because I now know why it does, let me just say that over the last 2 years I have learned that all I needed to believe was in myself and  understand that I just had to change my attitude.  I did put myself to the test, and I found I was capable of just about anything.  I truely believe that the way you live is entirely up to you and your choices you make, how you overcome obstacles and how you deal. Don't be afraid, just try.  Don't be so ready to throw in the towel because things are not going your way.  So many people go to college for years and more then half don't even know what there major is.  Why be so willing to do that yet not be willing to do it for yourself, for your business, or others.  I have a degree and its called "Kelly's Law"  and it took me years to get it!

The Journey

Yes I work from home and I love it.  It has been a journey and I think the journey continues everyday till I meet me goal.  Thus far, I have to say that I have lived and learned so much.  I have my moments when I want to give up, but it isn't an option for me.  If I gave up then.....well that would be it.  Giving up is so easy, definitely easier then to keep trying.  Every time I have that moment I just look back to the times I had them before, it is then I realize I pulled through and got stronger after.  I made a decision, and I am sticking to it.  If everything were easy we would all be successful.  We all have it in us, I truly believe that, we just have to find what makes us tick and go for it.  Steps count and make the journey easier, so don't be afraid to take those steps necessary to get you there, and small steps work best.
I grow up in NY and I love to visit.  When I do, I like to fly because it is quick and because it saves me from the body aches Id get from driving, however, when I fly, I miss all the scenery.  I would prefer the drive if it didn't take so long to get there.  We sometimes think we can do that with everything.  We all hope for the easy way out, but is it really going to get us to exactly where we want to be.  Think about it, If we could just skip the hard parts, could we ever learn enough to be successful?  NOT POSSIBLE   Every successful person that lives has failed at one point in there life, and they were successful because they did not give up! If you where to ask any successful person if it were easy, what do you think they would say?  Then ask them if it was worth it?  The journey is worth it!!!  The longer the journey the more you learn!

Shrek

Saw Shrek 3D today with my boys, It was an excellent movie.  It really helped me value what I have and what we sometimes take for granted.  It really help me appreciate things more, how can one movie inspire you so much.  We all have our struggles and we all have times where we wish things were different, would you change things to get it?  I believe we all make mistakes, but sometimes it those mistakes that make us a better person and help us to see the truth.  I loved the movie and so did my kids, but it was so inspiring also.  If you have not seen it, go see it, you'll be glad you did.

Change your life

You can't change your life till you change what you do daily!! Success does not suddenly occur and either does failure, it is a process. What you do today will impact your tomorrow, so what does your schedule look like?  Does your daily habits build your character?  Are they preparing you for your future? What are you preparing for?

Someone once told me "you can pay now and play later, or you can play now and pay later.  That makes sense, but either way you are going to pay.  Make it your choice, now or later.  Work hard now then reap the rewards in the future or don't.

As parents we make decisions everyday based on the best interests of our kids, I just recently realized that one decision I haven't been doing is being a great role model.  We all have plans to see our kids succeed and do great things, yet now can we expect that from them if all they do is see us struggle and play.  I didn't want them to see me doing something I hated, so I changed my habits.  It was the best decision I ever made.
Good decisions are not easy, but are necessary to achieve success.  Make sure you challange yourself and don't settle for what will work because you can't build on that.

What are you doing to reach your Goal!!

Things are not going to change for you if they have not already.  Do not sit and wait for things to get better, or for it to be the right time because that time is never going to come. Just do it!  Don't be afraid to step out of your confort zone.  Do you have a vision?  If you do go write it down and take nessesary steps to get there.  Things do not happen over night.  It takes a lot of patience.  Ask any successful person if there was ever a time they wanted to give up, or if they ever failed?  I guarantee the have!  There has been many times I wanted to give up, yet haven't.  I can't say I am where I want to be yet but I have no doubts I will.  Have I had to make a lot of sacrifices, yes, have I made mistakes, yes, but I don't think I would be where I am today if I just gave up.  It was not an opinion for me.  If I gave up I would never know for sure were I would or could have been.  I am very blessed and I believe I am on a great path to many successes!!

Working from home

I have been working from home since January of 2009, and it has been the best decision I ever made for myself and my family. I have done a lot of home businesses, so finding something I truely can do from home and be successful is amazing! Anyone interested in hearing more about it can visit http://www.futurefromhome.com/
